Two-Month Checkup

Kinsley had her two-month checkup on Friday, July 2. She weighed in at 12 lbs 14 ozs and is just over 23 inches long (all in the 75th percentile). This appointment was a tough one for Kinsley as she got six vaccines. One was done orally and she learned very quickly to hold it in her mouth until we thought she had swallowed it and then spit it all out. The nurses said that isn't usually learned for another few months. I have a feeling this child is going to be a handful for us!!

She received three shots in her legs. I have never heard her cry like that. So hard to hear. She was a trooper and Matt said he wished he could take her out for ice cream, because she deserved it after that appt.

Even though she accomplished rolling from her stomach to her back at 17 days old, we finally got it on tape!!

Two Months of Fun

Over the past two months, Kinsley has had many fun adventures and accomplished many things. Here is a snapshot at her first two months of life.

Kinsley's Travels

Kinsley has been on many adventures already. She has been up to Seattle to visit her cousins for Sophie's 5th birthday party as well as Bernie and Sophie's piano recital. We then took an unexpected trip to California in mid June to help Aunt Cher move. This allowed her to meet her Great-Grandma Fran and Al, Grandpa Mike and Crystal, Great-Aunt Cher, Uncle Mikie, Aunt Tammy and cousins Davis, Cooper, Weston and Maddox. She had a great trip and can't wait to return in mid-July when we are heading back down for another vacation.
In late June she experienced her first soccer tournament in Bellingham as well as her first hotel stay. She enjoyed being on the field, watching Daddy coach some games. She was Daddy's good luck charm as his team took 2nd place in the tournament!Kinsley has proven to be quite the traveler so far. She enjoys the car rides (plenty of time to sleep) and is happy to sleep wherever we go (thank goodness).
We are heading out in mid-July for a camping trip down the coast of Oregon and into the Redwoods. We will see how she enjoys camping!!!

Tid Bits

Some of Kinsley's firsts:

• First Song Heard: Twisted Sister's, We're Not Gonna Take It (on the way home from the hospital). We are hoping this isn't a sign of things to come with her!!
  
• First Dr Appt: Monday, May 3rd with Dr. Fukui. Weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz.
• Second Dr Appt: Monday, May 17 with Dr. Fukui. Weighed in at 9 lbs and 21 inches long.
  
• First Roll: 17 days old, May 17 from stomach to back. Managed to roll twice before being too tired to do it anymore.
  
• First Smile: Morning of June 3rd while having her diaper changed. Mom and dad were both present to see it!!
• First Trip Trip Outside of WA: Thursday, June 17. Roadtrip to CA.
• First Soccer Game: Friday, June 25 in Bellingham WA. Matt's U-17 Girls vs a team from Seattle. Matt's girls won!
• First Book Read: Dr. Seuss' Oh The Thinks You Can Think
• First Cheerleading Practice: Wednesday, June 3 at North Thurston HS. GO RAMS!
• First Hotel Stay: Friday, June 25 in Bellingham WA. She slept like and angel.
